BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Baton Rouge man accused of hitting another man to death with a bottle of gin in 2012 has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
The Advocate reports 50-year-old Leroy Woods faces up to 40 years in prison in the death of Joseph Beathley.
Witnesses told police Woods had an argument with Beathley, then hit him on the head with a gin bottle he had been drinking from.
Woods admitted Thursday to punching Beathley in the face multiple times, but said Beathley was still alive after he went down.
