A 24-year-old Baton Rouge man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2009 shooting death of his first cousin.
The Advocate reports Rodriquez Wynn was scheduled to stand trial Monday on a second-degree murder charge in the slaying of 19-year-old Rondo Putman in Scotlandville.
Prosecutor David deBlieux said Wynn pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter and three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
Under the terms of a plea agreement, state District Judge Mike Erwin sentenced Wynn to 15 years on the manslaughter charge and a total of 15 years on the assault charges. The judge ordered the terms to run consecutively, but suspended the 15 years on the assault charges and placed Wynn on active supervised probation for five years once he is released from prison.
