Man on bicycle killed in Ascension Parish

GONZALES, La. (AP) - A 49-year-old Prairieville man was killed in a hit-and-run accident when a passing vehicle struck the bicycle he was riding.
Trooper Jared Sandifer says Frank J. Bercegeay was riding on Black Bayou Road east of La. Highway 44 Tuesday when struck by the unidentified vehicle.
Bercegeay was thrown into a roadside ditch where he died.
Sandifer says investigators haven't been able to determine what type of vehicle struck Bercegeay, but they believe the vehicle will possibly have damage to the right side or passenger mirror.
