Man leads police from Lafayette to Calcasieu Parish

A Lafayette man led multiple agencies on a chase and was eventually stopped in Calcasieu Parish. Kevin Alexander, 37, is accused of shooting a gun into a home in the 500 block of Orchid Dr. around 3:15 Tuesday morning. "Alexander is the estranged ex-boyfriend of one of the occupants inside of the residence. No one was injured inside of the home," Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton said.

None of the 13 people inside the home was hurt. Louisiana State Police and multiple other agencies gave chase as Alexander drove west on I-10 and captured him at mile marker 43 in Calcasieu Parish.

He was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office then later transferred to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office where he was charged with 13 counts of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated flight from an officer.
