EDGARD, La. (AP) - A St. John the Baptist Parish grand jury has indicted Earnest Joseph III in the death of a 15-year-old LaPlace girl.
District Attorney Tom Daley says that the second-degree murder charge was returned Monday.
Joseph is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 12.
The 27-year-old Joseph is accused in the beating death of Taylor Adams, who was found dead in her LaPlace home Dec. 5. Deputies say Joseph lived down the street from Adams and the two knew each other. Authorities have not provided a motive for the killing.
