Man hit by car dies

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A 23-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle on Elliot Road near Lake Charles.
Kim Myers, a spokeswoman for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, tells the American Press Son T. Tran of Lake Charles appeared to be walking north at around 4 a.m. Thursday when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling south.
Tran was pronounced dead at the scene.
Myers said impairment doesn't appear to be a factor, but routine toxicology reports are being performed on Tran and the driver of the vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation.
