HOUMA, La. (AP) - A Terrebonne man has been charged in the death
of his 1-year-old son.
Capt. Dawn Foret, a spokeswoman for the Terrebonne Sheriff's
Office, tells The Courier of Houma that 23-year-old Cody John Paul
Bourg, was arrested Friday and booked on a single count of
second-degree murder in the death of his son, Julian Bourg.
Cody Bourg remained in the Terrebonne jail Sunday in lieu of a
$500,000 bond. If convicted, he faces mandatory life in prison.
Foret says the child was rushed to Leonard J. Chabert Medical
Center on Oct. 19 after he had stopped breathing and then to
Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, where he died two days
Police say a medical investigation revealed death from
asphyxiation, and Bourg was the only one with the child at the
