SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A man who pleaded guilty to participating
in a murder-for-hire plot has been sentenced to life in prison.
Twenty-nine-year-old Erick Dewayne Crain pleaded guilty Friday
to first-degree murder in the death of Ernest Luttrell.
The Times reports that state District Judge John Mosely
sentenced Crain to life in prison at hard labor without the
possibility of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
Caddo Parish prosecutors say Luttrell's wife, Loretta, paid
Crain and a co-defendant, Tina Marie Vanmoerkerque, to kill her
husband, who was shot to death in his Keithville home last year.
Vanmoerkerque and Loretta Luttrell are awaiting trials.
