NAPOLEONVILLE, La. (AP) An Assumption Parish man has been sentenced in Napoleonville to 96 years in prison for sex crimes involving six children ranging from age 5 to 15.

On Tuesday, Judge Thomas Kliebert gave defendant 53-year-old Kim Bernuchaux of Pierre Part the maximum penalty for each of his six counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

The Courier reports Bernuchaux received 25 years apiece for three counts involving children under 13 and seven years apiece for three counts involving children over 13. As part of the sentence's terms, he will have no opportunity for probation, parole or suspension.

On July 22, a 12-person jury convicted Bernuchaux at the end of a two-day trial.
