Man forced to strip after robbery in Baton Rouge

Police say a 39-year-old man forced a motorist to strip Thursday and stole his clothes after the man had just given him a ride.

The Advocate reported Charles Lamont Mason Jr. of Baton Rouge was booked with armed robbery and resisting an officer.

Investigators say Mason took the motorist's clothes, which contained cash, debit cards and other valuables.

Police say Mason accepted a car ride from the victim, and then told him to pull over in front of abandoned apartments on Gayosa Street around 5 p.m.

Investigators say Mason pulled a gun and ordered the victim to go inside one of the apartments where the robbery took place.

A police officer was flagged down Thursday night by a man wearing only underwear who told the officer he had been robbed.

Police officers soon located Mason nearby and arrested him

It was not immediately clear whether Mason has an attorney.
