BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A 22-year-old Baton Rouge man convicted Feb. 1 of aggravated rape of an 11-year-old girl in 2009 has been sentenced to life in prison.
After the sentencing, The Advocate reports Leron Clark's attorney blasted East Baton Rouge Parish prosecutors for being uncompromising in the case. Clark was 20 years old at the time of the offense.
District Attorney Hillar Moore said a 20-year-old who is an adult cannot take advantage of an 11-year-old and have sex, whether there is consent or not.
Police have said Clark was accused of raping the girl on several occasions at her north Baton Rouge home.
