PORT ALLEN, La. (AP) - State prosecutors say a 34-year-old Houma man has been charged with raping a 9-year-old child while he was out of jail on bond after an arrest on child pornography.
In a statement, Attorney General Buddy Caldwell says a forensic examination of Scott Massey's computer found numerous videos of him sexually assaulting a nine-year-old child.
Caldwell said earlier this week that Massey was arrested at his parents' house in Port Allen and booked with 10 counts of aggravated rape. Caldwell says he faces a mandatory life sentence if convicted.
Caldwell says the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office, Houma Police Department and federal agents with the U.S. Customs Homeland Security Investigations worked the case.
Massey was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Prison as a fugitive and transported to the Terrebonne jail.
