A Breaux Bridge man is charged with attempted second degree murder in connection with a domestic violence call to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office on Sunday, Jan. 6. Terry Paul Rebert Sr., 31, is accused of hitting his girlfriend with a weapon and was arrested on a warrant on Jan. 10. His girlfriend's injuries were severe enough to admit her to a local hospital's Intensive Care Unit. In addition to his attempted murder charge, Rebert was booked and charged with domestic abuse battery stemming from an outstanding warrant after he allegedly abused his girlfriend months before the attempted murder charge, sheriff's office spokesperson Major Ginny Higgins said.
Bond for the attempted murder charge is set at $250,000.
