Man Charged with Attempted Murder after Alleged Beating

A Franklin man is behind bars on attempted second-degree murder charges for allegedly beating a man unconscious during a fight. Police say 31-year-old John Antoine knocked out the victim and left him with a bloody nose and mouth. According to investigators, no weapons were used during the incident, which took place at Antoine's home. No bond has been set. The victim was transported to a Lafayette hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
