Man arrested twice in 24 hours

Opelousas Police arrested a man twice within 24 hours. Thursday, Chief Perry Gallow said as he patrolled Madison street near Cane street he witnessed Joshua Joseph put crack cocaine in his mouth.

Patrol officers arrived and arrested Joseph, and he bonded out but was arrested soon after since his bond was revoked due to a drug arrest on Dec. 6. "Officers with OPD's Crime Suppression Team along with St. Landry Parish S/O Narcotics proceeded to Joseph's residence at 710 E. Landry st. Joseph was home therefore officers took him into custody but not before seizing 9.1grams of crack cocaine in his pants pocket," Gallow said. He was charged with Possession with The Intent to Distribute Schedule II and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. During the first arrest, he was charged with Possession of Schedule II, Resisting an Officer, and Obstruction of a Public Passage.
