Man Arrested for Stealing Lawn Equipment

On December 8, 2010, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office completed the recovery of $14,670.00 in stolen lawn equipment.

From November 15, 2010 through December 1, 2010, Tyler Paul Berard. 32, Breaux Bridge, scoured the yards of central St. Martin Parish residents while they were at work and took the following items; five riding mowers, two push mowers, a generator, a compressor, weed eaters, blowers, chainsaw, and a utility trailer. Berard then sold all of the stolen items at Pawn Shops within the City of Lafayette, and now faces the following charges:

11 counts of Theft Over $500
Numerous Charges in the City of Lafayette for Theft by Fraud

Berard bonded out of the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on an $11,000.00 bond and was transferred to Livingston Parish on an pre-existing unrelated Warrant.
