HOUMA, La. (AP) - The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office says a
27-year-old Houma man is accused of stabbing his girlfriend's
27-year-old son five times with a pair of scissors.
Sheriff Vernon Bourgeois says Jason Michael Este is being held

Prison Sunday night on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.
Bourgeois says the victim is hospitalized but the wounds on his
arm, back and side don't appear life-threatening. He did not
identify the victim.
According to the sheriff's office, the son and Este both lived
with the victim's mother, and the two men had been feuding for some
Bourgeois says the men had been drinking and got into an
argument that turned into a fight.
It was not clear whether Este had an attorney.
