Press Release- Today, Louisiana State Police detectives assigned to the Lafayette Field Office arrested a Scott man today for computer aided solicitation of a minor.
Last week, detectives working undercover in various online chat rooms, were contacted by 51-year-old Kevin Carmouche of Scott, LA. Carmouche believed he was having a conversation with a 14-year-old girl, and became sexually explicit with his conversation. He also requested that the girl send him nude photographs of herself. As the conversations continued, Carmouche requested to meet the girl so that he could engage in sexual acts with her.
Today, detectives arranged a meeting with Carmouche at an undisclosed location in Lafayette. When Carmouche arrived at the location he was taken into custody without incident. Carmouche was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for computer aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
This case was part of "Operation Child Watch." The mission of "Operation Child Watch" is to rescue children from the potential abuse of child predators who prey on the innocence of a child. Louisiana State Police will continue to work closely with other law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest these individuals.
