On August 19, 2010 officers with the Carencro Police Department responded to a burglary in progress call in the 100 block of St. John Street. Upon arrival officers located a black male suspect who was in the process of allegedly burglarizing a home. The suspect fled the area on foot and officers gave chase. Chief Stout apprehended the suspect while he was fleeing from the neighborhood. After a brief struggle the suspect was subdued and arrested.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly broke into another home in the 100 block of Walter Drive in Carencro by entering through the attic access. The suspect fell through the ceiling in the kitchen area and exited the residence without stealing any items. Witnesses in the area made a positive identification and put the suspect at the scene of the burglary on Walter Drive prior to his apprehension.
