Man Arrested After Stabbing Ex-Girlfriend with Screwdriver

On August 15, 2010 officers with the Carencro Police Department responded to the 100 block of Sateen Royale Circle in reference to a disturbance in progress with weapons.

Upon investigating the incident officers learned that a male suspect entered the home without permission. Once inside the residence the suspect was armed with a screwdriver and he attacked his alleged ex-girlfriend. The suspect allegedly began to kick the victim in the head, punch her several times with a closed fist, and ultimately stabbed her once in each arm with a screwdriver. The victim was able to run from her attacker and enter another room to call the police. The suspect allegedly kicked open the door to the room in which the victim was hiding and began to attack her once more. A female homeowner observed what was occurring and intervened along with another male to stop the attacker.

Upon the suspects exiting the home he told the victim that she better not call the police. The suspect exited the residence and fled the area on foot. The suspect was later located and arrested by Carencro Police. The suspect was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center awaiting bond.
