On March 10, 2010 The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office responded to an aggravated battery complaint at the 900 block of Hebu Lane, New Iberia. Deputies spoke to the initial caller who advised that a Harrison Jones, her boyfriend, had placed gunpowder in a light bulb and screwed it into a lamp with the intentions of it exploding. She also stated that Harrison had struck her 13 year old son with a baseball bat. The thirteen year old male sustained injuries to his forehead as a result of the blow.
Harrison also allegedly placed what is believed to be an insecticide into a container of milk that the callers two grandchildren were drinking. The two children were transported to a local hospital where the received further medical treatment. Harrison was later located nearby and arrested and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on two counts of attempted second degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of aggravated second degree battery. Harrison is being held without bond at this time.
