Man Arrested After Allegedly Helping Prisoners Escape

The Jeanerette Marshal's office arrested Herman Lockette who was wanted by the Vidalia Sheriff's Office.
Authorities were in search of Lockette since he allegedly assisted two inmates escape from the Concordia Parish work release program. They were then brought to Lafayette.
The inmates were later apprehended by the Lafayette Sheriff's Office.
Lockette was charged with Assisting Escape and will be extradited to the Concordia Parish Criminal Facility for arrainment.
