The man and woman found dead inside a Leonville home Tuesday were both shot, according to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office. "Detectives investigated the scene and during their investigation found a small caliber revolver in the bed with the two victims," St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said.
Deputies found Lawrence Davis and Marlene Weston after Davis' sister reported she hadn't talked to her brother and his friend, Marlene, in a couple of days. Investigators are interviewing family members and neighbors who may have talked to Weston and Davis before they died. "We are waiting on results from evidence that was submitted to the Acadiana Crime Lab to possibly answer many questions that remain unanswered. At this point in the investigation only two people know what happened in that bedroom that night and unfortunately they are both deceased. We are hoping the Acadiana Crime Lab Technicians' examination of evidence submitted will shine some light into who is responsible for the deaths of this couple," Guidroz said.
Public Information Officer Megan Vizena tells KATC they are not ruling out suicide, murder-suicide or murder.
