Man Allegedly Sets House on Fire, Commits Suicide

ST. AMANT, La. (AP) - St. Amant Fire Chief James LeBlanc says a
47-year-old man reportedly set fire to a house in the Galvez
community and then killed himself with a shotgun to the head.
LeBlanc tells The Advocate that the victim was identified as
Michael D. Fielder. The incident, he says, stemmed from a faily
dispute.
LeBlanc says the fire was reported at 7:35 a.m., and under
control about 40 minutes later. He says the fire spread to two
neighboring houses, but firefighters were able to save those
houses.
The fire did not injure anyone.
