An Alexandria man is behind bars after Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow said he "went to the well one time too often."
Rodric Reed, 30, is accused of stealing movies from Walmart in Opelousas at least seven times. Officers set up surveillance Friday morning and caught Reed with new release movies valued at $2,500, Gallow said.
The investigation began after Walmart employees contacted police after witnessing Reed steal from the store, Gallow said. The chief said Reed would put the movies in a shopping cart, slide them under a fence in the garden center, then drive to where he stashed the movies and load them into his vehicle.
