A 64-year-old Baldwin man is in I.C.U at a Lafayette hospital after being shot by his ex-son-n-law last night.
According to Baldwin Police Chief Gerald Minor, Ronald J. Valiere was shot by Robert Hatcherson, Jr., on Orphan Street and Railroad Avenue at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Chief Minor, Hatcherson was in a relationship with Valiere's daughter, and the shooting was a result of a domestic dispute between the families. Hatcherson and Valiere's daughter has three children together.
Viliere was shot in the neck twice and transported to Franklin Foundation Hospital. From there, he was air-lifted to Our Lady of Lourdes and is currently in stable but critical condition.
Baldwin Police arrested and charged Hatcherson with attempted 2nd degree murder. He was transported to the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville and no bond set at this time.
