A man posing as a tower maintenance worker is accused of stealing copper wiring from a cell phone tower in Broussard. Wade J. Thibodeaux is charged with five counts of theft of utility property.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office arrested him on Tuesday. Thibodeaux was caught when a legitimate tower worker showed up at the tower for repairs, according to a sheriff's office spokesperosn. He's suspected of seven copper wire thefts in Lafayette, and in Acadia Parish sheriff's deputies are questioning him for alleged crimes.
