MONROE, La. (AP) - A West Monroe man spent the weekend in jail after police accused him of throwing a television remote at his 8-year-old son and blacking his eye.
According to Sunday's News Star, Ronald B. Adams was booked with cruelty to a juvenile.
Police say an argument broke out between the 49-year-old Adams and his son over whether to watch wrestling or cartoons.
Adams told police that the boy got the black eye jumping off a swimming pool ladder earlier in the day. At the time of the arrest, deputies noted that the pool had very little water in it.
. Bond had not been set for Adams as of Sunday afternoon.
