Man accused of armed robbery last year arrested over the weekend

DNA identified a man accused of robbing store employees at Tiger Nation in Lake Charles last year. "The suspect wore a disguise and demanded money and other belongings from the stores employee. The suspect incapacitated the victim and fled the scene in a stolen vehicle," Lake Charles Police spokesperon Mark Kraus said. The alleged robbery happened in April, 2012, an last week, on Feb. 28, the Southwest Crime Lab identified William A. Shupp, 41, as the suspect. Shupp lives in Spring, TX, and was arrested March 1.

The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force made the arrest. The task force is comprised of the Montgomery County Sheriff's SWAT team and member of The U.S. Marshal Service.

Shupp is charged with Armed Robbery, False Imprisonment, Theft and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.
