COVINGTON, La. (AP) - A man accused in a December shooting outside of a Slidell nightclub that left one man dead has been indicted by a St. Tammany Parish grand jury on a second-degree murder charge.
The Times-Picayune reports (http://bit.ly/YE0kQG) 22-year-old Dwight Travis Ambo is accused in the shooting death of 43-year-old Sherman Deas.
Deas died of a gunshot wound to the right side of his chest.
Prosecutors say Deas and his shooter allegedly were involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot of Gloria's Bayou Lounge just before 2 a.m. on Dec. 9 when a shot was fired.
Authorities arrested Ambo five days later in a hotel room at the Imperial Palace Casino in Biloxi.
