LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A 29-year-old has died three days after a police standoff followed a killing and other attacks in Lake Charles
Police tell the American Press that Felton Watson of Lake Charles died Saturday in a hospital where he was taken after suffering seizures during questioning on Tuesday.
In a statement Wednesday, police said he told investigators that he had swallowed large amounts of drugs.
Watson was accused of killing 27-year-old Joshua Frank and shooting Rakisha Vital and stabbing Robbie Vital. Rakisha Vital was hospitalized; Robbie Vital was treated and released.
Watson also reportedly pistol-whipped a motorist during a carjacking. The driver was treated for minor injuries.
Police tracked Watson to a motel where he surrendered about 2 1/2 hours later, after police shot tear gas into his room.
