Man, 72, is Plaquemines first murder since 2009

JESUIT BEND, La. (AP) - A 72-year-old man found murdered in his Jesuit Bend home is the first homicide in Plaquemines Parish since 2009.
Sheriff Michael Lafrance says deputies went to the man's home Thursday morning, where they found him in a pool of blood by the front door. Deputies were at the home because they'd received reports that the victim had not been in contact with anyone for days.
The sheriff's office has not released the victim's identity, pending notification of family members.
