Mamou Police responded to a call about a possible robbery at the Piggly Wiggly just after 8:30 last night. Witnesses say two men held two store clerks at gunpoint, demanding money from the safe. The two men got away with about $18,000. They were seen leaving the store in a dark colored hatch back that police suspect could be a Honda.
The men are described as thin built black males either teenagers or men in their early twenties. Witnesses say their faces were hidden by bandannas and one was wearing a ski mask. Mamou police are offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that would lead to an arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
