Major fire in Abbeville

Firefighters are on the scene of a major fire at the Vermilion Co-op Rice Mill.
Abbeville Police tell us an elderly man was taken to the hospital for suspected heat exhaustion.
The blaze apparently started in an abandoned building behind the co-op before spreading.
Firefighters tell us they encountered some chemicals and they are starting further evacuations of the area.
