LUS workers praised by New York storm victims

Here are the letters LUS has received from Long Island, NY residents.

Letter #1
All I know is on Saturday Nov 3rd I guess about 7 or 8 guys from Louisiana, L.U.S was the company, pulled up in 3 big trucks and changed the transformer outside my house in about 20 minutes. It was very obvious they were not from NY because one of the guys walked up to me on my stoop, introduced himself to me and asked me how I was doing. Then he told me they had a bunch of sodas on their truck and if me and my family wanted something to drink to just help ourselves! I was beyond impressed by these guys. They took such pride in their work and they were genuinely concerned about getting their job done right. He said they were working 16 hours shifts and they'd be up here in NY for awhile. Total pro's. The fella I spoke to was named, I think it was Pete Frey. Thanks go out to Pete and the crew!

Letter #2
Our Thanksgiving...for three nights.

Dear LUS,

We want to thank the entire LUS Crew for working here on Long Island after Hurricane Sandy. There are a lot of people without power, and their hard work is really helping to get thousands of families back to their lives.

Our family had the honor to have met them and host them in our home in Merrick, NY. for three nights while a snow storm hit the area after the hurricane.

The last three days have been like having Thanksgiving every night sharing our home with the LUS crew. Our three little daughters, would wait for them every night with pictures. They were so excited to see them arrive with their big trucks and to see 18 pairs of BIG BOOTS line up at the door next to theirs. It was like having 18 Santa Clauses coming home for three nights bringing big smiles and the best manners I've ever seen after working long hours, for most of them first time under the snow.

They were so happy to see snow. They said, "It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." They even went outside to build a snowman in front of our house.
They are grateful people even with little things like a warm cup of coffee. I could hear one saying, "This is the best coffee I've ever had...and I don't even like coffee".

We've waited three months for an electrician to fix our living room lights with no luck and here we were last night with 18 electricians from Lafayette, LA.!!! While they were fixing our lights, one of our daughters was playing the piano for them. You could see that these guys really miss their families. We hope they get together soon.

We wish we could remember everybody's name to thank them individually, but it was three crazy nights, and we hope to see them again in the future.

We want to thank our friends The Andrews Family, from Bellmore, NY. For providing them with 18 blankets, the Ponce Family, from Guatemala City, the Contreras-Ponce Family, from NJ & the Ponce-Haberland, from NY for helping us so we could provide them with food.

They are a credit to your company and your community.
We are sure going to miss them.

Happy Thanksgiving from Merrick, NY.
