LUS Director Terry Huval makes another pitch for utility rate hikes before the city-parish council at the meeting on Tuesday night.
Huval told the council increases would be used to fund improvements for water, electric and sewer systems.
He's says it's an opportune time to raise rates, because fuel prices are low and customers may see a limited impact.
The Lafayette Parish Democratic Executive Committee says it's not supporting the increase.
However, the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce is supporting the increase.
