LULING, La. (AP) - The St. Charles Parish Public Works Department has been working to replace and/or clean multiple stop signs and speed limit signs along Primrose Drive after vandals spray painted them over the weekend.
Vandals also spray painted signs in Bayou Gauche over the last few days.
Monique Granier, the parish's risk manager, said Monday that older signs can be cleaned easily with a paint remover but the newer retroreflective signs can't be cleaned and must be changed at a cost of about $25 per sign plus the cost of labor.
The sheriff's office is asking the public for help in tracking the vandals. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 985-783-6807.
