Tuesday, September 29, 2009. The Louisiana Technical College, Lafayette Campus is offering a tuition-free Call Center/Customer Service Representative program through the Rapid Response Training grant. This 180 hour, non-credit program will be offered on Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Classes will start on November 5, 2009, and end on December 18, 2009. Space is available for 15 participants interested in preparing for a career as a call center/customer service representative. There is no charge for tuition for this program; however, participants are responsible for all books, supplies, and testing fees. A high school diploma or GED is required to enroll in this program. Participants who score at least a 3.0 on the WorkKeys Assessment will be accepted into this program on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants can schedule the WorkKeys Assessment at the Lafayette Business and Career Solutions Center located at 706 East Vermilion, Lafayette, LA or by calling (337) 262-5601.
The Call Center/Customer Service Representative program is designed for individuals wishing to pursue careers as customer service representatives. Upon completion of the program students will be equipped for entry level jobs in call centers or where customer service is a primary requirement of employment. Positions as Call Center/Customer Service Representatives offer competitive wages, excellent benefits, and a professional work environment. Upon successful completion of the program, completers have the opportunity to take the National Retail Foundation's Customer Service Certification examination to obtain a National Professional Certification in Customer Service.
