LSUE is now a tobacco-free campus.
The university adopted the tobacco-free policy on January 1. The use of all tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes, on any property owned, occupied, or maintained by the university is prohibited.
Anyone, including visitors, caught using tobacco on campus face $25 fines. In addition, students, faculty, and staff could face other disciplinary action from the university.
UL will implement its own smoke-free policy in the upcoming fall semester.
