BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - University officials say LSU Graduate School Dean David Constant plans to step down to return to the engineering faculty.
The Advocate reports the job has been largely decentralized since Constant took two years ago, with LSU now placing more of the responsibilities for graduate students with the individual academic colleges and departments.
Thomas Klei, LSU interim vice chancellor for research and economic development, credits Constant with streamlining the Graduate School and helping lead the decentralization process that began last fall.
The decentralization included having the graduate school dean report to Klei.
