LSU-Eunice Moves to Region 23 Finals

The LSU Eunice baseball team (51-4) won their second game of the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament over Itawamba Community College in six inning via run-rule by a 17-2 score.
Starting pitcher Cody Boutte (NISH) (7-1) threw five innings, allowing five hits and two runs; one earned, with two walks and two strikeouts. Tyler Venable (Rayne) and Josh Sims (LaSalle) combined to pitch the sixth inning. Sims recorded two strikeouts.
Zac Hawkins (Northlake Christian) went 3-for-4 with three singles and three runs scored. Adam Angelle (Teurlings Catholic) added two hits going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI's. Dalton Herrington (Minden) had a double and a triple while scoring two runs and driving in five.
The Bengals will now play for the Region Championship tomorrow Saturday May 19th at 7:00 PM at Bengal Stadium. LSU Eunice will play the winner between Itawamba and Hinds in the days 3:00 PM game.
