LPTFA unanimously approves intention to negotiate lease of former Greyhound property

The Lafayette Public Trust Financing Authority (LPTFA) unanimously has approved a resolution authorizing potential negotiation with Festival International about a possible lease of the former Greyhound terminal in Downtown Lafayette.

Festival International says it discussed with LPTFA the possibility of leasing the Lee St. property as a potential home office for the nonprofit organization. Festival officials say that they are exploring the possibility and are researching the issue.

Both LPTFA and Festival International officials confirm that any consideration of a property lease currently is in the formative stages.

LPTFA officials explain that any agreed-upon deal would have to be approved by its board.
