The Lafayette Parish School Board will select a new superintendent Wednesday evening.
The final three candidates spent Tuesday evening introducing themselves to the community.
After months of interviews, board members say Katie Landry, Walter Gonsoulin and Pat Cooper are their strongest candidates based on their track records.
Katie Landry has served Lafayette Parish School for 40 plus years.
"I've been director of elementary schools and a principal for 20 years,"said Landry.
Walter Gonsoulin is currently an assistant superintendent in Starkville, Mississippi.
"I've been a teacher, a principal and assistant principal,"said Gonsoulin.
Third finalist, Pat Cooper has worked in the education field for years, serving in several capacities including assistant superintendent.
"I was also a teacher and principal,"said Cooper.
School board president, Mark Babineaux says they're all strong candidates but before board members make a final decision there are certain qualities they'll look at to make sure the best candidate is chosen for the job.
