Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call to the 3700 block of Kaliste Saloom Road at 10:22am today. Deputies say when they arrived, they found a lifeless three-year-old boy and began performing CPR on him. The child was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. The child's identity has not been released as deputies have not yet notified his parents.

Deputies say the home is that of the boy's stepfather. They add the initial 911 call came from the stepfather's mother. Deputies have begun a criminal investigation at the scene.
