A standoff is now over, more than six hours after a man barricaded himself inside a house at 225 Lormand Road near Scott.

Tommy Bourque, 26, surrendered peacefully. He is charged with possession of stolen property.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff Office arrived at the home around 9 o'clock Monday morning and that's when Bourque barricaded himself inside.

The situation stemmed from a burglary at a Duson pharmacy. Using the surveillance the suspect was identified and authorities were called out to his residence.
