The Lafayette Parish School Board, once again, delayed a decision to eliminate funding for the Special Assistant to the Superintendent position. It came at the request of the new school board attorney.

As you know, Board Member Tehmi Chiasson has been Superintendent Dr. Pat Cooper's most vocal critic on this issue. He tells KATC's Erin Steuber he pulled the item from the agenda so he can look more closely at possible disciplinary action against the Superintendent. It's Chaisson's belief that Cooper violated policy. Cooper denies that.

Board Member Mark Cockerham also introduced an item that would prevent the school board from re-considering any past hires, including Welch. However, that item died because of lack of support from other board members.
