Lafayette Consolidated Government, along with Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft and Major Jackie Alfred, are suing one of the nine officer's who just filed a federal suit against them. They claim officer Scott Poiencot who serves as a member of the Lafayette Fire and Police Civil Service Board has engaged in favoritism and committed gross misconduct, including:
Joining eight other officers in the lawsuit against them.
The suit also claims he was involved in the creation of the website "Real Cops 'V' Craft."
The lawsuit asks that Poiencot is immediately removed from his position.
Poiencot's attorney Stephen Spring says "The only corruption here is what our clients have exposed to the public at great personal and professional risk. Their efforts are exposing the real-life practices and customs of the Durel administration and its henchmen."
We reached out to LPD and LCG's attorney Michael Corry who couldn't be reached for comment.
