Loyola to offer free tax help

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Residents of New Orleans and St. Bernard Parish who need help preparing their taxes can get free assistance through a program offered by Loyola University's College of Law.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, set up to help those with low to moderate incomes, begins Monday and will continue through Thursday, April 12. Tax preparation sessions will be held at the Broadway Activities Center at Loyola University's College of Law and at the Community Center of St. Bernard Parish in Arabi.

Those attending should bring identification, Social Security cards for each member of their household, previous tax returns and other tax documents, including W-2 forms, 1099 forms and Social Security statements.
