NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The fall 2011 freshman class at Loyola University of New Orleans was the largest group of freshmen at the university since Hurricane Katrina hit at the beginning of the fall 2005 semester.
The university said it had 872 first-year students this fall, a 12 percent increase over last year and one of its largest freshman classes ever.
According to the figures released Monday, total enrollment for 2011-12 is 5,178, compared to 4,982 during the 2010-11 school year.
