Louisiana teen dies in 2-vehicle wreck in Miss.

KILN, Miss. (AP) - A 16-year-old from Covington, Louisiana, has been killed and two others have been injured in a two-vehicle wreck in in south Mississippi.

Hancock County coroner Jim Faulk says Joshua Hathcox, the passenger in a Ford pickup truck, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Lt. Johnny Poulos tells The Sun Herald the accident occurred Saturday afternoon on Mississippi Highway 603 in Kiln.

He says the Ford F150 was traveling south when the driver lost control and was struck by a northbound Dodge Ram.

Poulos says the 17-year-old driver of the F150 was in critical condition at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, and the 53-year-old driver of the Ram was in stable condition at Garden Park Medical Center.

Poulos says each person was wearing a seatbelt.
